Growing up in Amsterdam surrounded by objects rich with history and stories, Loet van der Straten developed an early passion for craftsmanship and timeless design. Together with his dog Heintje, he now blends this love for the past with a hands-on approach, restoring classic motorbikes since his teens and curating vintage pieces that quietly tell their own tales.
What started as a personal hobby grew into a thriving vintage design business with clients worldwide, including collectors and celebrities. Loet favors quiet, understated pieces that reveal their beauty over time, rather than loud trends.
Through his Instagram, he shares his daily life shaped by vintage objects, food, and fashion. His mission is to make timeless beauty accessible and to teach others to develop ‘the eye’, the intuitive skill to recognize quality and potential. His love for food matches his passion for furniture, seeing cooking as another form of craftsmanship and expression.
